How to Find a Printer for your Mac

by Carrie on August 23, 2009

Once upon a time I was a PC user. I graduated college with a degree in graphic design and shortly there after, when it was time to upgrade the PC laptop my parents had gotten me for high school graduation, I decided it was time to become a Mac user.

Since become a Mac user, I have unfortunately become a frustrated printer user. I’ve been through 3 different printers and none of them has printed reliably enough for me to feel like I can print anything at home at all. (The only benefit of this being that I have saved a lot of paper.)

I finally got sick of not being able to print anything at home so I decided it was time to seek out a printer that plays nice with Mac.

I decided that the best way to find equipment that works seamlessly with a Mac was to visit the Apple website.

I clicked into the printers category, sorted by rating and then checked the highest rated items for a printer in my price range (under $100). Then I shopped around for better prices elsewhere online.

I ended up with the Canon iP4600 Inkjet Photo Printer which got 4 stars on the Apple website and sells for $69.99 on Amazon (plus Amazon has free shipping and no sales tax!).

So far it’s working great and for the first time in almost 5 years I feel like I can print anything I want.

Canon is a very good one. last year i bought a HP-Photosmart and I am pleased with it. It’s not very easy to find the right stuff for MAC. however, there’s nothing like to be a MAC user.
