Pink is in for Spring

by Carrie on February 19, 2010

The latest Sephora catalog arrived about a week ago and I’ve been drooling over it ever since. I was instantly drawn to how much pink is going on for spring. Wish as I might for ever more new makeup, I’ve got plenty and can make do with my existing stash. So I dug through what I have and pulled out some of my favorite pink makeup items that I’ll be embracing this spring season.

Eyes

To make sure pink eyes don’t look like pink eye, pair pink eyeshadow with a generous dose of black eyeliner and black mascara.

Stila Precious Pearl Palette Stila Precious Pearl Palette

This palette came out last spring and contains two lovely pink shades. These eyeshadows are silky smooth and amazing.

Estee Lauder Pure Pops in Chameleon Glow Estee Lauder Pure Pops in Chameleon Glow

This is one of the items I got at Look Good, Feel Better and it’s super easy to just dab on and go.

Stila Bronze Glow Eyeshadow Trio Stila Bronze Glow Eyeshadow Trio

Now I realize the name is bronze, but this bronze trio goes on very pink. These are baked mineral makeup which I find much less messy than the typical loose powder mineral makeup.

Cheeks

Too Faced Snow Bunny Too Faced Snow Bunny Bronzer

This pink based bronzer is perfect for pale people like me who look just plain dirty in brown based bronzers. Some days I wear just this and black mascara.

Stila Convertible Color in Lillium Stila Convertible Color in Lillium

This is one of my favorite blushes of all time, it’s the perfect nude-pink. To make cream blushes go on easily and look super natural, I’ll mix it on my fingertips with a bit of moisturizer and then apply to my cheeks.

Stila Jasmine Rouge Pot Stila Jasmine Rouge Pot

This is a mousse texture blush in a fresher and brighter shade than the Lillium Convertible color above. If you’re looking for a pop of color on your cheeks this is just right.

Lips

Urban Decay XXX Shine in Quickie Urban Decay XXX Shine in Quickie

Urban Decay’s XXX Shine lipglosses have a wonderful fresh mint flavor. Quickie is a frightening hot pink in the tube but sheers out once applied and is a ton of fun.

Clinique Butter Shine in Berry Blush Clinique Butter Shine in Berry Blush

Butter Shine’s are my favorite lipsticks because they’re moist and shiny and feel more like a lipbalm when you’re wearing them. Berry Blush matches the natural pink color of my lips quite well.

Stila Sweet It Gloss Stila Sweet It Gloss

It Glosses are vanilla flavored and glittery and Sweet is a fun medium pink shade that’ll go with everything.

Awesome, Carrie! I’ve always wondered how to do pink eyeshadow without looking like I’ve got pinkeye. Mostly, I’ve just avoided it. -Leila

It was torture to receive that catalog while on a no buy. But like you, I have been rediscovering what products I have in my make-up stash.

Hmmm. While I love the look, I’m hoping it won’t look “weird” on my darker skin.
