As I’m off to work like a madwoman as the registration manager at BlogHer ’11, I’ve decided to take these days to reflect back on the most popular posts here at CarrieActually.com over the course of the past year.

@CecilyK recently turned me on to the Google Reader “Next” bookmarklet.

A bookmarklet is something you drag to your bookmarks toolbar and it preforms an action rather than just taking you to one specific bookmarked page. This “Next” bookmarklet takes you to the next unread item in your Google Reader.

Visit The Google Reader “Next” Bookmarklet to read the rest of the post.

So much awesome stuff to share this time around and this is just the highly narrowed down list. I’ve changed how I’m sharing articles I like on Twitter lately and now have it set up through Twitterfeed so that when I click the share button in Google Reader it automatically posts the headline and link to my Twitter account. So basically, if you want even more awesome articles that I’m reading every day, make sure to follow me on Twitter to get the full scoop or on Facebook to weigh in on the best of the best articles between Link Love posts.

If you’re like me, when a chat window starts beeping at you, it’s always impossible to figure out which browser tab it’s coming from. That’s why I like to keep all of my chat options in iChat.

To add your Google and Facebook accounts to iChat, start in the iChat > Preferences menu.

Click the + in the lower left hand corner.

Google and Facebook accounts can both be added to iChat using the Jabber protocol.

For your Google account use your username@gmail.com and password and everything else should be set up automatically.

For your Facebook account use your username@chat.facebook.com and password and everything else will be set up automatically. (Your Facebook username is what shows up after www.facebook.com/ in the address bar to your profile page. If you still haven’t selected one go to Account > Account Settings.)

Disclosure: As a reminder, I am now a BlogHer employee. I don’t get any compensation to drive traffic to their site or conferences but working there full time does make me infinitely more aware of what’s going on with them so expect to see a lot more links to their site.
