A couple new awesome items on iTunes this week:
First up is the latest album from one of my top 5 all time favorite bands: Alkaline Trio’s This Addiction. (My last.fm profile actually lists Alkaline Trio as my #2 most listened to band since 2005.) If you’re already an Alkaline Trio fan, it’s different enough that you don’t feel like you’re listening to the older stuff and it’s familiar enough that you don’t feel like you’re listening to a whole different band (*cough* like say Panic! at the Disco’s disappointing second album). If you’re not already an Alkaline Trio fan, check them out because they’re awesome.
Next up is seasons 1-4 of Criminal Minds. (The current season 5 was added a few weeks ago.) Finally! This series took forever to come out on DVD too and is rarely rerun. It has always come on at 10pm and I love sleeping so that’s usually my bedtime at the latest and while I’ve caught and loved a few episodes here and there, I’ve never been able to keep up with the series. Now’s my chance. Next we patiently await Cold Case.
I also see they’ve added Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred which some of my blogging friends are loving right now. It’d be a little intense for my health right now but maybe I’ll be able to do it some day.

iTunes now has The Guild Season 3 available. The Guild is the web series starring Felicia Day that inspired Dr. Horrible’s Sing A Long Blog but to be able to really appreciate The Guild you must play World of Warcraft. Episode 1 of season 1 is available free this week so you can check that out if you’re curious about it. I actually think this is the first week any of The Guild has been available on iTunes and I think it’s awesome so I’ll be downloading it all.
Also nice to see Criminal Minds finally available on iTunes. It’s been on my wishlist for a long time (like back to the years I was using Netflix and they didn’t have it either). I like the show but it’s usually on too late for me to watch it live.
As far as music goes this week, I’m picking up the Hey, Soul Sister single from Train. I heard it on a recent episode of CSI: New York and have been obsessed with the song since then.

This week iTunes is offering one of the absolute best freebies in ages: the Nothing Suits me like a Suit musical clip from the 100th episode of How I Met Your Mother (in my opinion, the best sitcom since Friends, possibly even better than Friends so I actually recommend the entire series but if you’re hesitant just start with the freebie).
If you’ve seen Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, you will love this clip. If you haven’t seen Dr. Horrible yet, you better get on that too because it is undoubtedly some of the best $5 I ever spent.
Disclosure: The links in the post are affiliate links and I will receive a small percentage of any purchase you make via iTunes after clicking through them (however, any percent of $0 is $0 so I get nothing if you snag the freebie). I paid full price for all of the items I’m recommending to you and truly want you to watch and enjoy them as much as I do.
